Viappiani Printing – Case History

Viappiani Printing is a company located near Milan, founded in 1929 by the Viappiani family. The leading label company has been using different software to meet market needs for many years.

Among the software chosen is InkFormulation, used to formulate all special colors-from Pantone colors to custom inks for customers. Starting with the production of the recipes, and then passing through the mixino station, the company is able to produce the ink that is fed into the machine. The machines in the company are all interconnected through the Color iQc software that, thanks to a single internal database, stores the standards that are then used for all productions, thus eliminating the possibility of error.

Thanks to Intellipress PRO with IntelliTrax, the company went from an average start-up waste of 700/800 sheets for an 8-color job to 450 sheets. Start-up waste has thus been reduced by 40 percent. X-Rite and Rutherford’s scanning system, designed for advanced, automated on-machine color control management, saves its users time and raw materials.
